Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert says that Martin O'Neill is one of the best managers he ever played under.
Lambert takes his Villa side to the Stadium of Light to play O'Neill's Sunderland side in a game with numerous sub-plots.
Lambert played under O'Neill at Celtic during a successful period in the club's history and the now Sunderland manager managed Villa between 2006 and 2010 taking them to sixth in the Premier League in three consecutive seasons.
Lambert credits his former Celtic manager with being a big influence on him as a manager and player and said:
"For me as a footballer, I absolutely loved playing under him [O'Neill] it was brilliant."
