Sunderland manager Martin O'Neill admitted his side had got what they deserved and lacked a cutting edge in the game, as Scott McDonald scored the winner for Boro in the 39th minute.
Fans were left extremely disappointed with the result, with some even questioning O'Neill's position as manager.
