Former Sunderland defender Chris Makin says he is looking forward to seeing how Martin O'Neill will mold his side together.
O'Neill has made one signing so far this summer after the addition of Carlos Cuellar.
He has sold two players though after Michael Turner followed Asamoah Gyan out of the Stadium of Light.
Makin says that O'Neill will now start creating the side he wants and building a team to take the club forward.
