Disabled young people took part in an Olympic and Paralympic themed Foundation of Light event in Sunderland.

The youngsters got the chance to hold the Olympic torch brought in by Gary Baker, whose son was taking part.

The 5-25 year olds played seated volleyball, boccia, athletics, football, tag rugby, javelin and shot putt.

The games at Crowtree Leisure Centre rounded off the Foundation’s summer term programme.

The Foundation of Light's Making Moves disability coaching programme supports disabled sports in the region through a variety of in school, after school and weekend sessions and is funded by Children in Need.
