Sir Bob Murray thinks Sunderland are capable of going places under their current manager.

Murray was chairman at Sunderland for over 20 years.

During that time he oversaw the club gain promotion and suffer relegation.

Towards the end of his stewardship the club enjoyed their best ever Premier League seasons with back-to-back seventh place finishes in both 1999 and 2000.

Murray now says he sees a positive future under the leadership of Martin O'Neill.

He was speaking at the Foundation of Light Family Learning graduation ceremony.
