Sunderland seek their first away win of the season on Saturday when they face Stoke at the Britannia stadium.
Martin O’Neill’s men were the last side to take 3 points from the Potters on their home turf, before they began a 10-match unbeaten run.
Sunderland won by a single goal back in February and Martin O’Neill expects a tough task against Stoke once again.
O’Neill said, “You know when you go to stoke you’re going to be in for a battle from start to finish.”
Lee Cattermole returns to the fold for Sunderland after serving the last of his three match suspension during lastweekend’s derby draw.
Phil Bardsley was an unused substitute against Newcastle, and is once again in contention.
Titus Bramble will miss out due to a hip problem, while Wes Brown is also ruled out.
Meanwhile Tony Pulis welcomes back Glen Whelan for Stoke after recovering from a hamstring injury suffered against Liverpool.
