Sessegnon is Sunderland’s top scorer this season so far.
He has been subject to transfer speculation all season but Armstrong says that if the right offer came in, Martin O’Neill may sell.
He explained that it could be a similar situation to the one the club faced with Jordan Henderson who was sold to Liverpool last summer.
But Armstrong is confident that James McClean will stay with Sunderland.
McClean has played a prominent part in the side since O’Neill took over in December.
Armstrong says he expects the Irishman to stay at the club for the long term despite his eye-catching performances this season.
