Martin O’Neill’s side lost 4-0 on Saturday, their biggest defeat of the season.
But it was only the fourth loss since O’Neill took charge in December and Gray has backed his old side to recover quickly from the defeat.
Gray also backed O'Neill to give his side the chance to consider the defeat in their own time and to prepare the players correctly for the game with Newastle United this weekend.
