Jarrow Roofing(Blue) remain fourth-from-bottom but an upturn in form and a superb goalkeeping performance could yet see them escape the drop.

Consett(Red), who have now slipped to fifth-from-the-basement, went in front after half-an-hour as Michael Mackay fired past goalkeeper Josh Carmichael.

Josh Allen bundled in an equaliser in the 55th minute and there continued to be little to choose between the sides.

It was Roofing who came out on top. David Southern picked up a pass just inside the Consett half and after seeing off the attentions of defenders, smashed the ball into the roof of the net.

With 10 minutes remaining the Steelmen had the chance to restore parity. They were awarded a penalty but Carmichael came to Jarrow's rescue with a splendid save. He then made another two outstanding saves in the final minutes to keep his side ahead.
