Sale Sharks centre Andrew Higgins and Worcester Warriors pairing Oliver Tomaszczyk and Alex Crockett have both agreed two-year deals at Kingston Park.

The side has now taken on a total of seven summer signings after Rory Lawson, Carlo del Fava, Tane Tu’ipulotu and Scott MacLeod were confirmed for 2012 -2013.

30-year-old Higgins can play either wing or centre and spent seven seasons with Bath before making the move to rivals Exeter Chiefs for the 2010-11 campaign, then moving to Sale and spending a year at Edgeley Park.

Higgins said: “I am excited to team up with Dean Richards and the team at Newcastle next season. I am looking forward to getting a good pre-season under my belt, and helping the Falcons get back to where they should be.”

Highly-rated prop Tomaszczyk, 25, makes the switch North following a two-year spell at Sixways where he helped the Warriors to promotion to the Aviva Premiership.

Previously part of the Falcons’ academy set-up, the London-born front-rower has represented England under-18s and played for Oxford University against Cambridge University in the 2006 Varsity match.

Nicknamed ‘Tomahawk’ by Warriors fans, Tomaszczyk’s former clubs include Argentinean side Lomas Athletic and Tynedale.

Tomaszczyk teams up with former Worcester teammate Crockett at Kingston Park.

30-year-old Crockett, who led Worcester’s Championship promotion charge as Richard Hill’s first choice centre has both England Saxons and England under-21s honours to his name.

The aggressive centre spent eight seasons at Bath and co-captained the side during the 2008-09 season.

Her said: “When speaking to owner Semore Kurdi I was very impressed with the passion for keeping top-class rugby in the region – I want to be part of the new era.

“With Dean Richards at the helm and with new players being brought in to add to the quality that is already in the squad, I am confident we will be a tough team to beat next season.

“I am really looking forward to starting my journey with Newcastle Falcons.”
