The Olympic bronze medallist announced his retirement after being unable to overcome knuckle injuries to both hands.
The 27-year-old was undefeated in his professional career, winning seven times and drawing once.
In 2009 he opened the Olympian Gym in Ryhope, Sunderland, with the aim of developing local boxing talent.
Jeffries is now based in Los Angeles where he plans to open a gym in partnership with actor Mickey Rourke.
