He beat Slovakian Ludo Hantak on points in the main event.
Hussain said: "I am absolutely delighted. He was a tough chap but I am just over the moon for getting the win."
The Newcastle heavyweight had an eye problem that saw him have an 18-month layoff before this fight.
There was also a win for South Shields’ Anthony Nelson but his stablemate David Lake was stopped by Taylor Ward, Martin Ward’s younger brother.
The first fight of the event saw Newcastle super featherweight Dougie Curran score an impressive TKO against Leroy Smedley.
Punters were also impressed by Middlesbrough light welterweight Shafiq Asif, who beat Jonny Greaves on points.
Karl Ferguson was beaten in his first professional fight against Lancashire’s William Warburton, the referee stopped the bout in the third round.
