Dek hockey, sometimes called ball hockey is similar to ice hockey but played in a sports hall without ice and using a ball instead of a puck.
Seven teams from Tyne and Wear entered the competition including three teams from North East Dekstars and four teams from Northumbria and Newcastle universities.
The London Jets retained their title as national champions and Nottingham's Arnold Timberwolves won the consolation plate.
The Timberwolves had 4ft 10in Amy Hill in their side who thinks the sport is dangerous.
She said: "If you don't wear helmets you're going to get hit in the head and knocked out. I've got bruises all over my body so yes it is very dangerous.
"But it's a great team sport. You can meet some lovely people and get to play in tournaments like this."
