POLICE SHOW THEY'RE GOOD SPORTS THROUGH DONATION

POLICE in Northumberland have shown they're good sports by donating equipment to youth club.

Kick Start, based at Red Row Welfare in Morpeth, received sports equipment from officers after applying to the Northumbria Police Charities Fund.

The junior sports club is open to any child aged six to 12. It has a multi-skills approach to coaching, focusing on children's fundamental movement skills such as throwing, catching, kicking, running and jumping

These skills can then be taken into a wide range of sports, including tennis, football and cricket.

Sarah Dodds, Northumbria Police Charities Fund Trustee for Northumberland, said: "I am pleased the Northumbria Police Charities Fund could assist Kick Start by purchasing sports equipment which I know will be used by all the young children who regularly attend the weekly session."

John Robertson, coach at Kick Start, added: "Many thanks to the Northumbria Police Charities Fund for this very kind donation."
