With almost 40,000 Twitter followers 15-year-old singer songwriter Lily Brooke Widdowson is already an online sensation.
The teenager from Hebburn has been writing her own songs since the age of 12 and has had around 26,000 views of her music videos on YouTube.
The St Joseph’s Comprehensive School pupil hopes one day to work in the music industry and is currently making an album with local producer Peter Connolly.
Lily, who is a distant relative of athletics legend Steve Cram, said: “The support I’ve had from my followers online has just been amazing. I’ve had a couple of famous people follow me on Twitter like Amanda Holden and Nancy Sinatra.
“Amanda sent me a message saying how much she liked my music. I was so honoured to get that kind of feedback from someone in the industry. She called me 'darling' too which I thought was really sweet.
“I’ve always been interested in music and have been writing songs since I was about 12-years-old. At the moment I just want to develop myself as an artist and a person and hopefully just keep improving.
“I’m currently writing songs for my first album which be out by around March 2013. My dream is that one day I’ll work professionally in the music industry. If I keep working at it, hopefully I’ll get there.”
