A 59-year-old man is in a serious condition in hospital after he was found unconscious in the street with a head injury.
He was discovered outside the Royal Arms pub in Nile Street, North Shields just before 10.30pm on Saturday September 22.
His injuries are said not to be life threatening.
A 46-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing grevious bodily harm and police investigations are continuing.
