Four men have been arrested and a quantity of cannabis seized after a drugs raid in Washington.
Officers from the Neighbourhood Policing team raided nine homes in properties in Blackfell, Concord, Sulgrave, Lambton, Oxclose and Glebe. Cannabis resin was rseized and the four arrested all received cautions for possessing controlled drugs.
Inspector Paul Stewart, of Washington Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: "This demonstrates our commitment to combating drugs across the town. People who are involved in drug dealing in our communities should be aware that police can and will act to target them.
"We rely on help from the community to provide us with information about this issue. Anyone who is concerned about drugs and drug supply in their area is asked to contact their local Neighbourhood Policing Team on 101 ext 69191."
