Taylor has featured prominently in recent derby matches and scored the winning goal in August 2010 when the two sides met at the Stadium of Light.
He says that games between the two sides are “non-stop tackles, non-stop fouling but at the same time still quite enjoyable.”
Taylor was speaking as a guest on Sky Sports’ Fantasy Football Club program and co-host Paul Merson explained that he sees games between Sunderland and Newcastle as bigger games than those between Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal.
Taylor also says that he enjoys playing Sunderland at the Stadium of Light rather than facing them at home.
