Sky Tyne and Wear caught up with the former Newcastle United man at Close House Golf Club as he attended its Founder's Member's Day.
Newcastle were two down inside fifteen minutes before Tom Cleverley rounded things off on 71 minutes.
Shearer said: "Newcastle never really recovered from Man United's quick start and despite a little bit of pressure from Newcastle in the second half, I dont think people can have too many complaints."
Alan Pardew now has two weeks to prepare his side before they travel to the Stadium of Light to take on Sunderland.
