Sir Alex Ferguson's team go into the game on Sunday October 7 on the back of a second league defeat of the season following a 3-2 loss to Tottenham Hotspur.
Newcastle beat their next opponents the last time the two sides met in the Premier League last season with goals from Demba Ba, Yohan Cabaye and an own goal from Phil Jones.
That was Newcastle's only win in the last ten meetings between the sides they have enjoyed some famous victories in this fixture including a 5-0 victory in 1996 when Shearer scored alongside Darren Peacock, David Ginola, Les Ferdinand and Philippe Albert.
Despite their recent record in the fixture though, Shearer says that Man United will not look forward to following a defeat to Tottenham with a trip to Newcastle.
Shearer said: "If Sir Alex could choose a game to bounce back from, I am sure a trip to St. James' Park would not be it."
