He may have retired six years ago, but Alan Shearer still likes to keep himself fit.

Sky Tyne and Wear sent reporter Phil Forster to take on the former Newcastle striker at former United physio Paul Ferris' Speedflex Centre in Jesmond.

Speedflex is a centre where people of any fitness ability can work to their maximum level and burn more calories than in a traditional gym session.

Designed to give your body a total workout, Speedflex utilises a system of hydraulics and computer technology to handle resistance and velocity, allowing the machines to adjust to the user's strength and ability.
