Donaldson
came through the youth ranks with the Magpies and has had loan spells at Tranmere and Hartlepool.
He teamed up with Carlisle for their friendly victory over Durham City last week and is scheduled to join the squad for training on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Manager Greg Abbott told the club's official website: "He did well in the first half at Durham and we spoke to him about coming back to join us. "He will come along for the second part of this week and he should be involved at some stage in the game on Friday night. We will make a decision from there."
