The Ivorian has reportedly attracted interest from several leading Premier League clubs courtesy of an excellent season on Tyneside, prompting talk that big bids could arrive in the summer.

The sale of fans' favourite Andy Carroll to Liverpool underlined the fact that even star players may be sold if a bid comes in that is well above their valuation.

Although the club's UEFA Champions League fate is still in the balance, highly-rated Tiote believes he can achieve what he wants in the game by remaining at the club.

Speculation

"Yes, I can achieve what I want to here," he told The Journal. "I don't know about the speculation.

"I have four games to play, I think I have to focus on the games because they are important games for the club and for everybody. After the season, we will see."

Newcastle have surprised many by continuing their superb start to the season and are now focused on qualifying for European football next season.

The signing of Papiss Demba Cisse in January proved to be a fantastic bit of business by boss Alan Pardew after the Senegal striker took the Premier League by storm.

His two goals against Stoke on Saturday have taken his tally to 11 in just 10 games and Tiote believes he has played a big part in their Champions League push.

"For him it is natural to score goals. It feels normal," he added. "As a striker, it is important to score those goals. If you don't, you start to worry but he scores every game. It is good for the team too."

Meanwhile, Melbourne Heart have confirmed that 19-year-old defender Curtis Good is a step closer to making a dream move to the Premier League, having released the news that his week-long trial at Newcastle has been extended after he impressed on the training ground.
