United won the league on Sunday April 1, 2012 with a 4-0 win at Sheffield Wednesday.
They will now be promoted back to the Northern Premier League just one season after they were relegated from it.
Club captain Stacy Crooks told Sky Tyne and Wear: “To get relegated last season and the way we have all stuck together is just amazing, it’s the best feeling in the world.
“I don’t think we should have ever been relegated but I think things that happened on the pitch and off the pitch effected us so much.
“We’ve got a bunch of new players and we’ve all stuck together, we’re all friends and to get promoted with all these girls is just amazing, it’s the best feeling ever.
Despite Crooks scoring her thirty-eighth goal of the season in the 4-2 win against Bradford she remains modest about her achievement.
She simply said: “It’s much better than I have had in the past, it’s definitely one of my best seasons.”
First team captain Sarah Wilson was equally jubilant with promotion back to the Premier League at the first attempt.
She said: “It means everything, honestly we have been working so hard right from the beginning of the season, we had a bit of a rocky start but now all the hard work has finally paid off so happy days, bring on next season.”
