After signing, Lawson found himself lost in Newcastle and having gone down a one-way street was stopped by a policeman and after clearing up the issue he was escorted to Nando's.
Despite his brush with the law, the Scotland scrum-half says he is settling in well with his new teammates.
The 31-year-old is one of a number of Falcons summer signings as the club look to bounce straight back into the Premiership.
He said: “Our ambition is not only to get promotion back to the Premiership, but to be competitive once we get there.”
Lawson, who signed from Gloucester, has been capped 30 times by Scotland, and represented his country at the 2011 World Cup.
