Gateshead Thunder fell to their 57th consecutive defeat against professional opposition in a 40-18 loss against Championship leaders Barrow Raiders.

The Raiders led 16-0 afer 21 minutes thanks to tries from Lee Hanley, Jamie Butler and Scott Kaighan.
Chris Parker pulled one back for Thunder just before half time to send the team in at the break 16-6.
Barrow scored first in the second half through Ryan Shaw but Paul Stamp grabbed a try a few minutes later to keep the hosts in the game.
James Nixon scored an 80 metre interception to put the Raiders 28-12 ahead before Gateshead's Matty Barron went over to move Thunder to within ten points with only ten minutes left to play.
Kaighan scored his second of the afternoon in the last five minutes to put the result beyond Thunder's reach, leaving Gateshead rooted to the bottom of the league and putting the Raiders two points ahead of Workington.
