The Centurions needed a win to guarantee their place in the knockout stages of the competition and did so with ease.
A brace from Matt Russel and further tries from Ryan Shaw and Tommy Gallagher gave them a 22-0 lead at half time.
Thunder found themselves denied twice in the in-goal area thanks to some strong defence from Leigh, but handling errors cost the home side dearly.
Matt Gardner, Tom Spencer and Adam Clay scored second half tries to cement their side’s place in the next round of the competition.
The Thunder’s regular season starts on Sunday 11 March at the Gateshead International Stadium against the South Wales Scorpions.
