Goalkeeper Adam Bartlett, defenders Chris Bush and Glenn Wilson and striker James Brown are set to play a full part in pre-season.
New signing Patrick Boyle is yet to join up with his new team-mates at the INternational Stadium.
The left back has signed from SPL side Dunfermline Athletic on an initial six-month loan.
Gateshead finished eighth in the Blue Square Bet Premier last season.
But, manager Ian Bogie said he is looking to go one step further this season and mount a serious promotion challenge.
He explained: “It is no good setting a target of just staying in the league or being in the middle.
"We are ambitious, we want to push on.”
