Whitley Bay got their pre-season off to a decent start with a draw against Airdrie United.
The Scottish outfit made the visit to Hillheads having been promoted to the Scottish First Division last week, following Rangers' demotion to the Third Division.
The visitors took the lead through Kieran Stallard, but Jack Walker equalised for Whitley Bay late in the game.
Bay had five new players in the starting line-up and a number of senior players unavailable, so manager Ian Chandler was pleased with the result.
He said: "We're not sure how much of the Airdrie first team were playing, but our lads played well, put themselves about and the draw was deserved."
Next up for Whitley Bay is a trip to North Shields.
