Weekend Of Fun To Mark Cumberland Arms' Anniversary

Highlight of a weekend of activities at the Cumberland Arms, Ouseburn Newcastle will be a  Pub Olympics. From 1pm on Saturday, you can take part in Cumberland versions of the sports day classics! Fancy your chances at the pickled egg and spoon, the threer-pint race, throw a mallet, beer mat stack, it will be It's A Knockout but not as you know it. Be ready for a giggle but bring your game face as you could be taking home the gold!

The celebrations kick off on Thursday, August 9, with Richard Dawson, Becky Owen and Nev Clay providing a wonderful evening of relaxed and beautiful tunes. On Friday, August 10, the fantastic Warm Digits bring a semi-improvised brew of metronomic rhythms, snowstorm guitar and radiophonic electronics, dual-laptop electro, swathes of no-wave guitar and frantic free jazz drumming! oining them is Winter North Atlantic who will be playing tunes from the forthcoming album 'Yaga's Cabin'. On Sunday, August 12, The Baghdaddies return, giving an infectiously danceable night with brass, rousing five-part vocal harmonies and a rhythm section that will make you dance all night.
