Michael Lumb: Anchored successful run chase

Durham lost their second Friends Life T20 game of the season by seven wickets to Notts Outlaws.

Sky Bet

Michael Lumb hit 46 as Nottinghamshire passed their target of 115 with nearly four overs in hand to leave Chester-Le-Street with the two points.

The visitors put Durham in after winning the toss and the decision was vindicated after the hosts could only manage 114-5 from their 20 overs.

Harry Gurney was the pick of the Notts bowlers with 2-28, while Darren Pattinson, Andy Carter and Steven Mullaney weighed in with a wicket apiece.

Johann Myburgh was the only Durham batsman to offer any resistance with 45 from 42 balls before falling to Gurney.

Openers Lumb and Alex Hales quickly set about the Durham attack, putting on 62 before Hales was stumped by Phil Mustard off the bowling of Scott Borthwick.

Mustard and Graham Onions then combined to dismiss Riki Wessels (4) but Lumb stood firm, hitting a six and three fours before falling to Mitch Claydon.

Adam Voges (21) and Samit Patel (9) enjoyed an unbroken partnership to steer Notts home with 22 balls to spare.
