The victory moves the Dynamos above the Saltires in Group B of the Clydesdale Bank 40.

The home side won the toss and Paul Collingwood elected to field first in batsman friendly conditions.

Scotland made 256/4, 110 of their runs came from Jean Symes who was bowled by Liam Plunkett on the last ball of the innings.

Graham Onions, Paul Collingwood and Mitchell Claydon got the other wickets.

Durham’s response was emphatic as openers Phil Mustard and Mark Stoneman put on a 207 run partnership.

Stoneman made a century and Mustard looked likely to join him until he was caught just nine runs short.

Scotland got the wicket of Ben Stokes shortly after for just nine but Gordon Muchall then helped Stoneman ease Durham to victory with a winning boundary.
