Newcastle Eagles have lost out to a European side in their bid to re-sign Andrew Thomson.

Last season’s ‘BBL British player of the year’ has decided to move across the channel to French third division club La Rochelle.
Thomson was expected to stay with the Eagles for another season after he turned down an offer from new franchise Manchester Giants.
But, the lure of higher wages and European basketball now takes the 6ft 9in star to France.
Thomson averaged 14.3 points per game last season as the Eagles swept the board winning all four trophies.
